Massage Therapy

        Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the body's soft tissues. Soft tissues meaning muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, skin, nerves, fibrous tissue, fat, blood vessels and synovial membranes. Massage therapy is generally used as a treatment for stress on the body and pain. People who practice massage therapy are known as Massage Therapist, the term masseur (male) and masseuse (female) are out-dated and can carry a negative conception. Massage Therapist practice their therapy using different tools,modalities and techniques. 

        Tools used can be their hands, fingers, knuckles and forearms or mechanical, wooden or plastic percussion tools. Some may use ice to work deeper in the muscle, while other may use heat to soften the muscles. Modalities are different branches of massage therapy that focuses on different aspects of bodywork and treatments.
